On Jonathon’s seventh birthday, he became friends with a clown.

After his mother and her boyfriend were brutally murdered, he was placed in a children’s home under psychiatric care and hasn’t seen his friend since.

Now, ten years later, Jonathon is rejoining the only family he has left. Still, he misses his friend.

His friend’s name is Smiles; he lives in his head. Smiles loves birthdays. Today is Jonathon’s birthday.
